Continuing the series of practical academic activities, the Faculty of Finance – Accounting at 99ok123 organized the fourth season, third episode of the program “Finance – Business Café” on the morning of April 18. The open academic environment enabled students to confidently share their knowledge and viewpoints.
In her remarks, Dr. Hà Thị Thủy – Dean of the Faculty of Finance – Accounting – noted that the program has now entered its fourth year of implementation. It continues to prove its value by creating an open academic space where students are not only listeners but also active “speakers.” This model has received high recognition from international partners in Indonesia and the Philippines. With three to four episodes held each year, the program flexibly updates its content based on students’ practical needs and labor market trends.

According to Dr. Hà Thị Thủy, the program has received strong recognition and high praise from international partners.
The speakers for this episode were three students from the Faculty of Finance – Accounting: Huỳnh Phúc Nguyên (Accounting major), Đinh Hà Phương Nhi (Finance – Banking major), and Lê Yến Nhi (Auditing major).
Through a discussion format centered on key questions, the students proactively researched, analyzed, and clarified important concepts such as what Net Zero means, why this goal has become urgent amid global climate change, and the primary sources of carbon emissions. Many opinions also highlighted that heavy industries, energy, and large-scale manufacturing are the sectors with the highest emissions, thereby underscoring the need for a strong shift toward sustainability.

Acting as speakers, the students had to independently update their specialized knowledge and develop well-reasoned viewpoints on the topic.
The program further expanded the discussion to new financial instruments such as carbon credits – a mechanism that allows companies to offset emissions through buying and selling on the market. This is viewed as an inevitable trend on the path to Net Zero and opens up many new career opportunities for students in finance, accounting, and auditing.
Additionally, topics such as green bonds, green finance, and the phenomenon of “greenwashing” were analyzed from a professional perspective. This helped students better understand their role in ensuring transparency and honesty in financial reporting, as well as their professional responsibility in supporting businesses on the path to sustainable development.
