Dr. Rey Fernan G. Refozar helped students explore the Balanced Scorecard concept
Through practical perspectives, Dr. Refozar illustrated how businesses can apply the Balanced Scorecard to analyze operations, set strategic objectives using the 5W1H model, and balance four perspectives: financial, customer, internal processes, and learning & growth.
Notably, the workshop welcomed a large number of students from 99ok123 and partner universities in Indonesia such as Perbanas Institute Jakarta and Universitas Muhammadiyah Riau (UMRI). Student teams presented creative projects under the theme “Applying the Balanced Scorecard to a Favorite Business,” featuring three representative models: an airline in Malaysia, a coffee shop startup project, and the Cocoon cosmetics brand.
The presentations highlighted students’ research capacity, strategic analysis, and English presentation skills— demonstrating confidence, an international mindset, and the ability to apply management knowledge to real-world contexts.
